Graduate Program in Cancer Biology
The Cancer Biology Graduate Program at the University of Wisconsin has its origins in the Ph.D. program in Oncology, which was established at the McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research more than 60 years ago as the first graduate program in the U.S. to offer a degree in basic cancer research. The program now includes trainers from 17 departments on the UW campus. All students in good standing in the Cancer Biology Program are fully supported. During the past 60+ years, more than 1400 women and men have received pre- or post-doctoral training through our program. Many of these alumni now hold faculty positions at universities throughout the United States and abroad, and most of the others are doing research at research institutes or in government or industry laboratories.
